In the course of the energy transition the generation of electric power is not only linked to the power demand but also to the weather. Most renewable power is generated when the sun is shining or the wind blows – no matter if needed or not. An extreme increase of volatility to match power demand with power supply is the result of this change and a new technical challenge.
